Producer
After the first season of the series, I fully took over as producer. Working on casting, securing locations, and setting the schedule.
Writer
After we developed the first episode for the series, we had a template to highlight different aspects of the Crown College experience. Writing the voice-over and developing the scripts to showcase these fun, fantastical stories was delightful.
Director
During filming, I would direct our DP and talent and any help we had on set from students.
Editor
Some of seasons 2 and 3 were first edited by our assistant editor intern. However, all episodes were either edited or final edited by me in Premiere to bring the stories to life.

A Cohesive Narrative

This project was designed around the question

"Can we breath new life into a college campus tour?"

This series was created alongside a microsite to give prospective students a chance to have small interactions with the Crown brand that would leave a positive impression.

Episode Highlight

Though all episodes used the talent of Crown students and alumni, New Song during season 2 was a highlight.
To show off the newly renovated editing room and sound studio, we convinced a student to write and perform a song for the episode – which is also the background soundtrack for the episode.
With the song produced, we contracted an alumnus to make album artwork, and we distributed the song on Apple Music and Spotify.

Cut to black

We started this project wanting to use effective storytelling techniques and the best technology we could get our hands-on. We filmed with a Blackmagic Ursa Mini to finish in 4K to future-proof the footage.

We also gave the cuts a highly stylized look. The series would have an overall fanciful, fun, and free feel that could translate to an enjoyable experience for the prospective student while still giving them a peek into the college.

What we found

The Payoff

This was a win for the college as students were able to experience "touring" the college uniquely and memorably. During the two years, this series was filmed and distributed, Crown saw a considerable uptick in enrollment.
